What was the complete error message?
This is my Fluxbox . There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My Fluxbox is my best friend. It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my Fluxbox is useless. Without my Fluxbox, I am useless.

What I posted.

That was all there was, nothing more.

I was on KDE, using the Discover interface to get updates.

OK, from QSI, I see this:

Code: Select all

2025-09-02 13:54:00 upgrade virtualbox-ext-pack:all 7.0.22-0.1~mx23+1 7.1.10-1~mx23+1
And, from CLI:

Code: Select all

apt policy virtualbox-ext-pack
virtualbox-ext-pack:
  Installed: 7.1.10-1~mx23+1
  Candidate: 7.1.10-1~mx23+1
  Version table:
 *** 7.1.10-1~mx23+1 500
        500 https://mxrepo.com/mx/repo bookworm/ahs amd64 Packages
        500 https://mxrepo.com/mx/repo bookworm/ahs i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     7.0.10-1~mx23+1 500
        500 https://mxrepo.com/mx/repo bookworm/main amd64 Packages
        500 https://mxrepo.com/mx/repo bookworm/main i386 Packages
Looks like it went from:
  • 7.0.22-0.1~mx23+1
To:
  • 7.1.10-1~mx23+1

So, maybe all is good ?

That package is just a script--the postinst script downloads and installs the extension pack from Oracle. That version of Vbox has been in AHS for months, so I'm not sure why it upgraded right now.

Discover hides a lot of stuff. Maybe try using apt to remove and reinstall that package in a terminal to see if it really is successful.

Code: Select all

sudo apt remove virtualbox-ext-pack && sudo apt install virtualbox-ext-pack
MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing

Actually, that version of Virtualbox had been in ahs-staging until 2 days ago. We moved it because the existing 7.0.22 version wouldn't work with the 6.15 kernel we were adding.

opera-dude@GA-H270-HD3:~
Not sure why I got the error messages, but it looks like it installed OK.

Running the check again, gives this:
