cli-installer seems like it would be much easier. I wonder if cli-installer can be scripted to be completely unattended.
I'm sure it can, anybody who wants to work on that should feel free to sent pull request on our github. https://github.com/MX-Linux/cli-installer-mx

aptitude is the cli installer. Installed by default in Mx. Much the same function as synaptic.
I have managed for years with MX-Linux. I always have disabled the mx installer.

Never needed mx installer. Gui or otherwise.

Synaptic (gui) / Aptitude (cli)
