I've seen cachyos clime up in Distrowatch so I want to check it, the grub menu does not see it, it has no problem with manjaro ; I ask in cachyos and some one told me to uncomment GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER=false but that did not work.
two questions : first is that ok to do , and second: what can I do to get gurb to see cachyos

Re: grub does not see cachyos
You might try just running the ISO as a Live session in gnome-boxes or Virtual Box, if you just want to see what it looks like.
But it will need a bare metal install if you want to see if it performs detectably better, per the advertising.

Re: grub does not see cachyos
it might not for a few reasons.
1. cachyos appears to default to systemd-boot. I don't know if that would show up in a grub menu.
2. cachyos appears to default to a btrfs format, which also might not be picked up by a update-grub operation, at least on debian.

Re: grub does not see cachyos
I downloaded and booted up the ISO in gnome-boxes. I think it ran slow because of the virtualization overhead, but this was markedly slower than our KDE edition in the same situation.
I'm sure it runs like a chased ape on an actual install, though.

Re: grub does not see cachyos
it does run fast and I'm considering replacing Manjaro ; but I think I'll test it a little longer before moving it up to my main drive
