Packages needed for iPhone USB Tethering to work under MX 23.3

#1 Post by mxxm »

From the archwiki I have gathered that in order to establish a wired connection with an iPhone via USB Tethering, two packages [libimobiledevice and usbmuxd] from the repo are required.
Both packages among others are installed, but the connection cannot be established:

libplist3, libimobiledevice6, libusbmuxd6

A quick apt search lists a few Apple Binaries and other libraries. Could one of those be missing or should I try another configuration? Are there any ressources I can further dive into?

Much appreciated.

@mxxm
Have a look at this thread where your issue was recently discussed:
viewtopic.php?p=777713&hilit=iphone#p777713
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.
