when you open alsamixer and press F6 for each device in the list.
In the top left hand corner you will see Card and below chip.....for each name both the card and chip.
In alsamixer....that word chip actually means codec

And the reason I am asking is I still have not found anyone using model=string
Hello, sorry for my delay, I had to buy a new SDD and I am in the midle of setting it. Had to reinstall system and I am doing tests now.
I know what you mean ;) I have been working arround with Alsamixer , F6 and trying to change everything in each colum. Nothing worked. Also when I touch mixer (something) it is changed and you cannot return it to it previous state until you reboot.


I will screenshoot it and return , but It will take a bit :turtle: because I am trying to fix another issue now, hope you wait for me :crossfingers: . Thank you so much.

Hi there I havent forgoten about this, so sorry I couldnt come back. I was gifted a broken laptop, and been working on it since then. I will return as soon as possible, providing I can finish some other pendent issues. Thank you so much for your patience.

not a problem as I still have not found a suitable model=string either
