Xkill doesn't work. [Solved]

Your reaching is good because you might be onto something. "Are one of those keys dead?" Since I don't use keyboard shortcuts I don't know the answer to that question. If I hit only Ctrl nothing happens, if I hit only Alt I get a response, if I hit Esc I get no response. Is there a way to check these keys if they are working properly or not?

You can test the Esc key AND the ctrl key by holding down ctrl and hitting the esc. You should get an xfce menu pop up. And if you dont, then test the ctro key as Charlie suggested in feather pad or libreoffice writer. (type something, select it. then Ctrl+C and then ctrl_v several times and it should have copied and then pasted several lines.)

As already mentioned: The current one may stay there and you can assign a new key(s) for the same command and use that . (Or just use the other working Ctrl).

Say:

Command: xkill
And it says "Now Press your keys" : Alt + X (or whatever you like)

I went to the store just now and purchased a new one. It's terrible when a key board doesn't even last 2 years thanks to it being made in a country that known for the lowest quality in history. Unfortunately you can't get a new keyboard that's not made in that country I mentioned. The replacement keyboard I just purchased is made in that country I mentioned earlier.
