How to completely disable Firefox updates? [Solved]

Hello!

I'm using MX21. It came out of the box with firefox v93 installed. For that version, all the updates were completely blocked by the creators of MX21. And for me that was a blessing. Because I don't like to upgrade software every time there is a change in it.

A couple of weeks ago I was "forced" to upgrade firefox to be able to complete online payments. I have now installed firefox v123 and it gets the job done. But I'm not able to completely block the updates.

So, my question is:
How did you completely block the updates (as administrators)?

The only issue with holding back updates for Firefox is that you don't get safety updates. You might want to switch to Firefox ESR. That way you still get safety updates, but not new features. About once a year the ESR version jumps ahead to a more recent version and new features.
