My MX ver is as follows: MX-19.4_x64 patito feo October 21 2019; base: Debian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)
re copying the app (I understand this as the vdhcoapp-linux-x86_64.deb) "from here to there", how do I get to .config/firefox?

Nope, once the installation is ok it generates the required files (.json) for the major browsers like Opera, FF, Chrome (and some 1-2 derivatives of them like Vivaldi etc.) in home folder ...

For FF it's (or it should be) already here:

Code: Select all

~/.mozilla/native-messaging-hosts/net.downloadhelper.coapp.json

The latest deb will install onto the aging MX 19, but will silently fail due to a need for a newer libc6 than that release can provide. How do I know? This has come up here before.

That's why we ask the the QSI be provided at the start. It's not because we are nosy.
MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing
