I resurrected an old 2 in 1 laptop/tablet (Asus T100TA) which has only 2G of non expandable Ram. Installed MX 23.2 X64 KDE Plasma with no issues, except after half an hour it freezes. I am not a Linux teckki but after much research found an article on "swappinees" which was really easy to follow, implemented it and no more freezing. Basically it forces the use of the swap file so that the Ram doesn't get overwhelmed. I don't notice any significant performance issues. Appears that with 2G ram, swappines should be set to 60 but MX defaults to a value of 15 on install. That's fine for computer with more Ram but not with 2G Ram or less.Following the article, it took me about 5 minutes to correct. I also increased the size of the swap file to 2G during installation (section in installer just before the actual install and copying of files begins), and below where it asks where the grub file should be installedPerhaps for newbies like me, this info could be included and automated in the installer.
