Firefox autofill insanity, turn it off?

#1 Post by AVLinux »

Hi,

After many years of using Firefox even on my Windows box the last 6 months of releases are driving me insane with relentless visual blocking of every text field whether it is a login or a form you've filled out before.. I could live with an autofill appearing under the text field or above it but when it's right on top of what you're typing all the time I just want to put my fist through the screen.. I've looked at the settings but I don't see a way to turn it off, have I missed it? Is anyone else struggling with this?

*I am using a 4K monitor with 1.7x scaling, perhaps this is messing with the coordinates of the autofill fields..?

Edit | settings | Privacy and security

There are several settings:
Autofill addresses
Autofill credit cards

and then under Logins, Autofill Logins and passwords. You *may* need to clear all cache and cookes / site data to have these work, as well as restart FF.
*QSI = Quick System Info from menu (Copy for Forum)
*MXPI = MX Package Installer
*Please check the solved checkbox on the post that solved it.
*Linux -This is the way!

You can in under Privacy&Security/Logins and Passwords turn off "Autofill logins and passwords", also under History/ turn off "Remember search and form history". I'm not sure if this is what you wanted to turn off, I personally don't save my login info (I've set fireforx to autoclear everything on shut down); I retype every time so I haven't faced this issue you're describing.
