I dont believe that you need too. Lets see how that does and hopefully that will resolve the issue.

Thanks :). Till now the only difference is that screen is always on, not goes black after some mins of inactivity as before

Yup.. screen saver was kicking ya ;-p ... SO.. when you are sure all is good, then xscreensaver does not exhibit the same issues as that xfce4-screensaver! I use it all over, including in mx21 installs and it has been very nice. First, lets get the machine stable.. then once we know it is ... you can decide if you want o screen saver it up ( even a blank screen :-) )

Charles seems be ok so far now how can set it? (activate login screen after suspend, a timer for screensaver ecc)

Very good! Yes, on both, and set your screen saver to what your you like. (blank even)

... or rather than an alternative screensaver just install light-locker :)

A bit of help on how can I do that?
Start xscreensaver settings from the mx menu and choose what you would like as a screen saver.

At the bottom left of that dialog, there is a Lock Screen after check box and # of minutes (i usually leave it at 0 minutes

On the Advanced tab, there are some settings you can play with, but I would leave Power Management Enabled UNchecked for now - you can check it later and test.

Personally, I like Blanking to Fade out .. and under theme this is a pretty bland login, so I set to Dark Gray.
