Sleep Mode Problem

#1 Post by spinasa »

My computer puts itself to sleep after 15 minutes. However, after I try to wake it up, it does not wake up immediately, it wakes up after about 30 seconds, but it wakes up with all my open applications on the desktop closed. I would like to thank everyone in advance for your help in solving this issue.

Re: Sleep Mode Problem

your not running a swap file and while some places / people will say you dont need one with enough ram ... there *are* some applications / utilities / processes that will run better if there is one. (You dont have to use it, just 'should' have one.)

And suspend ... will create it on the fly as I recall - but its minimal and it will close all apps. Try creating a swap file and test this.

The good news is that you can add a swap file at any time and here’s how:
https://www.digitalocean.com/community/ ... -debian-11

Personally, a swap partition is better - but you can test with a swap file and see first.
*QSI = Quick System Info from menu (Copy for Forum)
*MXPI = MX Package Installer
*Please check the solved checkbox on the post that solved it.
*Linux -This is the way!

Meanwhile, have you also tried when booted with systemd? Any better?

I've read in a few places that creating swap space on SSD disks reduces the lifespan of the hard disk. I had tried before by opening Zramswap but this problem persisted.

I rarely open SystemD. I can't say anything because I haven't tried it.

Ok, that one is just to test /compare etc.. takes 1 boot

Also is it the same if you suspend this way? (can apply this no matter it's SysV or systemd)

Code: Select all

sudo pm-suspend

When I entered this code and restarted, there was no problem. But it doesn't start like this when it goes to sleep spontaneously.

Ok.. then it may be something due to screen locker etc.. Cause this one does it without locking.

You can also use that (create keyboard shortcut etc..) till it's solved ...
