Can the 535 and/or 545 versions not perhaps be added to the test repo'?

It's kinda stupid to have the installer check for newer versions in the test repo when there seems to never be one....

Having tested both the 535 and 545 drivers on my LM backup install.... I can say that on a ubuntu base at least the 535 set is a buggy mess (and has been since the start )to be avoided at all costs while 545.29.06 is perfectly stable. The only alarming bugs for 545 seems to be Wayland and possibly SystemD related.

Has anyone tested using this source for installing on MX?

I am not sure what you are testing, but 545 is a beta driver. If you were testing beta divers for 535 as well it is no wonder that your system is a buggy mess.
The official release 535 works pretty well for me for about a month now.
And as mentioned before, CS2 is unplayable with the included 525 drivers, 535 fixes that.

Even though it's a beta driver 545 is more stable and generally faster than 535 for me. And 535 remember had that lovely bug where it threw a black screen of death during the install even though it was technically stable.
