[SOLVED, by itself] Favorites and recents missing at reboot

#1 Post by theber »

I am using KDE Plasma with the Application Dashboard. Every time I reboot, there are no favorites, no recent applications, and no recent files visible on the dashboard. I searched around and tried renaming the folder /home/theber/.local/share/kactivitymanagerd, but that did not help.

On a different machine (laptop) without UEFI, same MX Linux version, there is no problem. I doubt that Boot Mode makes a difference here, but I just thought I'd mention it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Do you have full ownership of your home folder and all of its sub folders?

And, something is going on with your locale ?
Are these errors when you do that QSI ?

	LC_TIME = "de_DE.UTF-8",
	LC_NUMERIC = "de_DE.UTF-8",
	LANG = "en_US.UTF-8"
    are supported and installed on your system.

Hello, thanks for the reply.
I just booted into MX for the first time in two days, and the problem has gone away by itself! I installed MX 10 days ago to try it out on this computer, and the problem was there all along. Today it's gone. Maybe one of the updated packages from today is responsible, who knows.
I'll wait a while before marking this solved. "Never pack up your tools until you are sure that the machine is running."
