The fact that its not showing up in QSI makes me wonder if it's actually an HVR-1950 but might actually be an HVR-1955 which Hauppage shipped for a while instead.
The output of

Code: Select all

lsusb
should let us know that.
HP Pavillion TP01, AMD Ryzen 3 5300G (quad core), Crucial 500GB SSD, Toshiba 6TB 7200rpm
Dell Inspiron 15, AMD Ryzen 7 2700u (quad core). Sabrent 500GB nvme, Seagate 1TB

My hauppage works with alsamixer. I used tvtime.

I have jotted this down in my notes (DO NOT use this off the bat, since I don't know if this is ok to do in MX23!! I am sharing to help other people hopefully help you):

When sound issues happen run in terminal:
sudo /etc/init.d/alsa-utils stop
sudo /etc/init.d/alsa-utils start
MX-23.6_x64 July 31 2023 * 6.1.0-38amd64 ext4 Xfce 4.20.0 * 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 2700
Asus TUF B450-Plus Gaming UEFI * Asus GTX 1050 Ti Nvidia 535.247.01 * 2x16Gb DDR4 2666 Kingston HyperX Predator
Samsung 870EVO * Samsung S24D330 & P2250 * HP Envy 5030

@justAnoob Make sure your MX Select Sound has a default sound card selected.
( Choose the sound card in the drop down and then click on Apply. A couple of times until the default SHOWS that card - This has caught me more than once ;-/ )

You should then hear a test.
