mxpi mx package installer closes down ) Segmentation fault

#1 Post by gerritleman »

When I open the mxpi-launcher (GUI or CLI) I arrive quickly at the screen with the tabs (Popular applications/Enabled repos/../Flatpaks) and then the MX Package Installer closes down. I cannot do anything.
I am using mx-packageinstaller 23.9.01 & mx-packageinstaller-pkglist 23.10.01mx23 (yesterday evening 4 okt 23 I reinstalled the mx-packageinstaller in the hope the problem would go away, but it did not)
Using the CLI I get this output: "Segmentation fault"

I also attached the quick system after the CLI ouput

I realized that I had installed nala to do the apt updates. I just removed nala, rebooted and tested mxpi-launcer again.
And I got the same error

/usr/bin/mxpi-launcher: line 73: 3808 Segmentation fault pkexec /usr/bin/mxpi-launcher

You have set somewhere LC_ALL to an invalid locale, b/c the locale "en_BE.UTF-8" does not exists on the system.
B/c Please revert your manual changes. Also do not set LC_ALL anywhere, keep it unset.

 @fehlix Your advice worked and now the mxpi-launcher starts up nicely
1) followed your advice on keeping the LC_ALL anywhere, keeping it unset.
2) created an en.BE file in usr/share/i18n to generate en_BE.UTF-8

Thanks for your help

OK, in case the HELP request is now "[Solved]", please state as such and click the solved-marker of the post , which provides the solution.
Otherwise, e.g. if your custom made locale definition "en_BE.UTF-8 " is not working.
Please give some more context, what the intention was to have
your own en_BE.UTF-8 "English locale for Belgium".
Maybe adjusting a specific locale parameter like LC_TIME or LC_MONETARY or any other would be enough,
to achieve the goal of your intention.
Thanks
