Disaster scenario - how to restore everything? [Solved]
Re: Disaster scenario - how to restore everything?
@Kester Thank you for that link! I found foxclone a while back and my tests were pretty good with it, but somehow that fell off my radar. Glad to see its still around.

Re: Disaster scenario - how to restore everything?
@Kester thank you very much about the Macrium Reflect clarification. I intend to keep my Windows installation "alive" until I'm happy with MX and therefore Macrium Reflect could play an important role for my backups for a while. However, so far everything works fine with MX and there are only two programs left that are important to me which I should test. One of them is Plex server and it's available in the Popular Applications of MXPI. The other one is a native Linux program that's also available in Windows hence I don't expect to have any problem with it.
Based on a brief look at Foxclone it looks very good and I'll definitely be trying it out. I've already made a note to check it in detail.

There are a couple of others for consideration. These are both extremely powerful full and incremental backup solutions.
Kopia (GUI and CLI)...
https://github.com/kopia/kopia
https://kopia.io/docs/features/
Kopia is a fast and secure open-source backup/restore tool that allows you to create encrypted snapshots of your data and save the snapshots to remote or cloud storage of your choice, to network-attached storage or server, or locally on your machine. Kopia does not ‘image’ your whole machine. Rather, Kopia allows you to backup/restore any and all files/directories that you deem are important or critical.
DAR (CLI)...
https://github.com/per2jensen/dar-backup
Disk Archiver for full, differential or incremental backups with error correction + restore test.
