This one has been a long time coming, but I have finally given up and must ask for help. What app can I use to view twitter / X on MX Linux? I want to be able to read some posts but I never want to register for an account.

Don't you mean Xitter? 
Corebird, then its Cawbird fork, used to be our desktop Twitter client, but I don't know how it's doing with all the turmoil. We need to rebuild it for MX 23 anyway.
