search files by file size

#1 Post by user101 »

I want to be able to search for files based on file size. I would like a GUI tool with no commands to remember.

Examples of things I'd like to be able to do:
* Find all files bigger than 70MB.
* Find all files smaller than 5KB in this directory.
* Find all files with minimum size of 10KB and maximum size of 20KB on the entire drive.

That sort of thing.
Which app can you recommend?

Have a look at fsearch is it *amazing* and REALLY REALLY fast ! (MX Package Installer - enabled repos - search for: fsearch )

You can set it for what ever folders you want, or exclude what you want. Once setup, just launch it, then click on the Size column to sort ascending and descending

You can narrow search by adding something in the search field. ( .doc .jpg or any other extension, or just part of a file name)
*QSI = Quick System Info from menu (Copy for Forum)
*MXPI = MX Package Installer
*Please check the solved checkbox on the post that solved it.
*Linux -This is the way!

I second what CharlesV wrote.

fsearch is great, more powerful than the default xfce catfish search tool.

It is very fast.

I have tried Fsearch (already had it installed) and it is blazingly fast (a great feature) but it isn't quite what I want, but it may do for now. I want it to only show the items I want, and not have to search through irrelevant results manually.

I am looking for something with better filtering, but as I say, this may do for now.
