MX23 KDE - A number of icon sets are broken

#1 Post by texneus »

Unless you use a light theme, Adwaita, Gnome, and Oxygen cannot be used on MX23. The Papirus icons appear to work OK, but I haven't tested them very extensively. Several menu/toolbar icons appear to be missing, which seems to cause plasma to default to breeze light icons that cannot be seen against a dark theme. This is NOT an MX issue, BTW, the same effect happens in base Debian Bookworm. I assume this is a QT6 vs QT5 issue, but I don't know for certain, hence my appeal...

Examples from Dolphin with an all Plasma Dark theme (which I do like) but with alternate icons (1) Adwaita, (2) Gnome, (3) Oxygen. Note all apps seem to be affected to some degree, and as you can see, some icons are affected more than others...

These are from a VirtualBox install but it is verified to apply to real hardware too.

Re: MX23 KDE - A number of icon sets are broken

#2 Post by DeepDayze »

I have seen this in both plain Debian bookworm as well as in MX23...perhaps icon sets need rebuild?
