Background
Update from a few days ago,say between 9 and 14 April seems to give rise to choppy mouse movements onscreen.
Same thing happens when clicking and dragging windows

Events
As the keyboard and mouse were wifi based I swapped them out for wired keyboard and mouse but choppy movement and action on click and drag remains
I tried both wired and wifi connected to a different computer running Windows 11 and both seems nice and smooth

Other observations
Initially I thought it may have been related to installing and using kernel 6.1.0-7 so I wound back to kernel 6.1.0-6 both on systemd option but no joy.

Does htop show anything unusual on your cpu% load ?
*QSI = Quick System Info from menu (Copy for Forum)
*MXPI = MX Package Installer
*Please check the solved checkbox on the post that solved it.

I have the same behaviour on my HP 15 using the Liquorix 6.2.6 kernel. I have been living with it because any of the stock kernels make that laptop unusable.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Same here and sometimes the mouse turns off completely (wired usb mouse).
If I unplug it and plug it back, it works. Sometimes it works for a few minutes and I repeat, then it is good.

Thanks to all who replied !
I wound the Lenovo back to 5.18.0-4mx-amd64 [5.18.16-1~ms21+1] and that seems to be a bit smoother for sure.

Whether that is a random occurrence or not is beyond my ken - but happiness has returned :-)

Initially I thought it may have been some wifi interference but ... I have bigger concerns now - no sound on a Ryzen 7 5580H 15/500 GB small form factor pc
Coming in another post soon ...

Hey - thanks Charles
Nothing that I can make or sense of or shouts out loud as a system resource hogging event
