I agree, I don't want both of skanpage can do what skanlite can do. Is anything missing in skanpage? Just that skanlite is simpler it's not a reason to install two scanning apps. But do we still need both? If one is more for multipage it still can do single pages.

Re: MX-23_KDE alpha2 feedback thread
FYI: Muon was removed from the bookworm repos, but the current stable version (muon_5.8.0-2) installs just fine... and works in MX23!
Re: MX-23_KDE alpha2 feedback thread
After checking the "User Installed Packages" I found some more suggestions:
1. system-config-printer
If not installed it could raise an error/warning when adding network printers -> like this: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=218143
I only have HP printers so I cannot confirm if this also happens with other brands
2. ocs-url
Nice to have (to directly install from store.kde.org)
3. plasma-browser-integration
Again, nice to have
4. plasma-firewall
A more simple (but KDE/integrated) implementation of a GUI for ufw

I do not see mx-updater available.

Re: MX-23_KDE alpha2 feedback thread
OK, we now have in the 23 repos:
kde-servicemenu-extract-and-compress
kde-servicemenu-checkhash-installdebs
kde-servicemenu-rootactions
kde-thumbnailer-epub
and Tim had already done kde-servicemenu-kim5 for image processing.
I'll have to check on the rootactions one. The one in 19 and 21 was using polkit to get root access, so I wonder why that stopped working.

Re: MX-23_KDE alpha2 feedback thread
I installed the MX 23 rootactions on the alpha2 in Boxes, and was able to open a system conf file as root in Kate, and then open a root Dolphin in that same folder.
What problems were coming up before?

root dolphin was one I couldn't do. perhaps this is a change since 5.27 came out.Stevo wrote: Sat Apr 15, 2023 4:12 pm I installed the MX 23 rootactions on the alpha2 in Boxes, and was able to open a system conf file as root in Kate, and then open a root Dolphin in that same folder.

kate and kwrite can edit and save documents as root already, they just prompt when you save, same as featherpad (in action if not method)
***edit*** indeed those do seem to work now. @Adrian

Re: MX-23_KDE alpha2 feedback thread
Some MX-KDE metapackage update did pull in the new servicemenu packages, barring the rootactions. I think that can be added now. I didn't check the epub thumbnailer, but it's nice to see the cover of an epub book as a thumbnail in the file browser.
