external HDD is unmounting after a while

#1 Post by Niko »

Hallo,
my external HDD ist unmounting after a while.
How can I prevent that?

The HDD can be mounted again by pulling the usb-cable out and in again.

sudo tail -f /var/log/syslog shows the following:

Code: Select all

user@mx:~
$ sudo tail -f /var/log/syslog

Update:
Now the HDD does not mount any more but it mounts still on a old notebook (10", intel atom, kav60) with antix.

Unfortunately I have no laptop available with windows on it. Some time in the past I could heal the error by just stick the HDD in a laptop with windows on it.
After that it mounted also on the notebook with mx linux.

It seems to have something to do with the ntfs-partition on the external HDD.

Can I do anything in mx-linux or antix-linux to repair this safely?
