It's very weird that you got a ProBook to die, even with sparkling water. lol I had a G1 for a while before I gave it to my relatives. That thing was still trucking along like a champ. Only had to replace the battery on it.

Of course, I think the old Dell Precisions were actually the best workstation laptops, matched only by the older Thinkpads, but the ProBooks were still amazing.

The key words in your statement are "were still". Welcome to the era of planned obsolescence.

I figured it out along with the very helpful manager at that Staples store. Their display model's bios predates mine by four months and it has a different audio coprocessor.
