Can't Update to Latest version of Google Chrome

#1 Post by Gigahenry007 »

Dear Friends,

Hope all is well.

For whatever reasons I cannot update to the latest version of Google Chrome. (Note Attachments)

There is a Red Update in the upper right corner where the 3 dots are found.

Please advise.

Best, Ralph

MX 18 is past end of life, and no longer supported. Your problems will only increase as time goes on.

I would suggest an update to a supported MX release.

then use another browser.

you should still be able to download the Google Chrome Deb file
- direct from the Google Web Site

the only issue, will be, if any support files, are also needed.
- which, in this case, there such an file.
:(

Thank You! do you happen to know?
Plan to upgrade to MX21 but I'm not sure exactly when and I am not an astute LINUX user. On the learning curve and usually have to look to you folks or a friend locally that also uses and knows LINUX inside and out. I live in a rural area and getting reliable tech support is challenging.
Cheers, Raphael

Contact your local high school and see if there's a student there that's willing to do it for, say, $50.00, At most, it will take him or her about an hour to upgrade your laptop to MX 21.3.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.
