Ok, thank you, that's it.

In fact, my 1st thought as I saw the thread was Ahci/Raid.. So, that one is eliminated.

I just wonder if logrotate was there (almost top) at that time only (coincidence) or always like that? 10.63 sec.

And.. xfce4-screensaver ? (That's one of the trouble, though that may/may not be the culprit)

If there is such an option in Bios: change "sata mode" to Ahci (recommended especially for SSDs), save and exit.
What do I do about the screensaver errors? I'm scared to touch it again. I remember we both talked last time about me turning on presentation mode to fix the screen blanking lol  . I messed with a bunch of terminal commands regarding signalling and stuff but I don't know what I was doing there (hopefully did not mess up so bad!)

Okay so it seems like nmbd.service was the main issue here. I checked what the samba stuff is and I was like "hUh well I don't use it and have no connections setup so", then I searched up that nmbd.service is for keeping that running. Simply turning it off I have made boot time fast now!! (I just wonder will there be anything that will turn it back on again?)
Thanks guys!

Could it boot any faster? :snail:
Pic is now the systemd-analyze:

Glad to see it's solved.

You can do the same (if you like only) even for smbd.service

smbd is the server daemon that provides filesharing and printing services to Windows clients.

Also

Code: Select all

systemd-analyze critical-chain
may be good.

xfce4-screensaver was just causing freezings especially after suspend on MX19 and was not included on MX21 upon our (especially my) suggestion to MX Team. So, if you don't really need it (you already have a screen "locker") just purge and get rid of :)

Wow nice!! So I got rid of xcfe-4 thanks. I got the boot time down to 16 seconds removing the other samba service. Not sure if I should remove any more than that but it's much faster than 45 seconds as it was before! So far everything has been going great! Thanks for the help! :number1:
