No image for "Smilie"

In a recent post I tried to use a "smilie"
refer to: https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=73060

on my computer I only see only the link - it never shows up as an image - even when I view the post today (see screen-cap below)

You're not supposed to copy & paste the link to the smiley image you want. If you just left click on it the correct BBCode to display it will be entered into your reply. For example, clicking on this image :spinning: enters

into your post. And if you use the preview you will see the spinning Smilie.

@timkb4cq - THANK YOU. I had dragged the smilie image from the gallery to my post so I guess how/why the link appeared instead.

(I just can't get away with anything any more. Makes getting old a lot more boring !!)
