MX package installer shows packages that are on hold

#1 Post by Lichuj »

Hello

My current version of the nVidia drivers is 470.63.01-1~mx21+1 and the repository holds an update to 510.47.03-1~mx21+1 which I can't install because my graphics card in no longer supported by that update. Because of that I've decided to put all nVidia packages on hold using apt-mark hold [package_name] so they won't appear in MXPI as upgradable. For whatever reason MXPI still show four packages as upgradable despite being ignored. It looks like a bug but maybe it's intended behavior for whatever reason.

At least I can say, other packages are normal here, those on hold are neither listed under upgradable nor upgraded, maybe it's nvidia-package-specific. (Just as a feedback to MX Team). (... Either with MXPI 22.4 and 22.4.2 )

Thanks for answer but... emmm i don't quite understand your answer :-P. What do you mean by 'other packages are normal here'. What are 'other packages' and to what 'here' refers to? Screenshot your system?
