Last autumn, I had a thread up about KDE Weather Widget. It was an excellent add-on for the KDE panel, even though it hadn't been maintained for some years. It could display a meteorgram based on weather forecasts from yr.no and OpenWeatherMap. There were two shortcomings, the yr.no forecast needed a workaround to set up, and the OWM didn't display wind direction or speed. This February, yr.no (which I understand is a Norwegian TV station whose forecasts come from the Norwegian meteorlogical service) discontinued the service that this widget used.
This was the thread:

Yesterday I took a look to see if there was an alternative, and the original author has been back to create a new version of the widget, KDE Weather Widget 2. The two differences between that and the original widget are:
- It now gets its forecast direct from the Norwegian meteorlogical office, cutting out the middleman. It's also a lot easier to set up, you don't even need to visit its website, it's all handled in the setup dialogue.
- The Open Weather Map forecasts now include wind direction and speed.
And so KDE has a good and usable weather plasmoid again!
P.S. If you did not have the previous version installed, you may find you need to install
qml-module-qtquick-xmllistmodel for this widget to run.
