MX21 -Xfce - Serious Bug if Taskbar is on Top of Screen (horizontal)
if you put the task bar horizontally across the top of the screen, its completely non-functional.
if you maximize an application, the application title bar becomes hidden under the taskbar and your totally stuck, no option but to move the task bar. there is an option to reserve space for the task bar in the settings, however it is not functioning for top placed horizontal position. I cant even use MX 21 with Xfce because of this, Id love to try it if this issues was ever fixed. Thank you for your consideration.

How did you up the panel at the top, is it a specific application that is doing this?
I can't replicate this if I use MX Tweak to put the panel at the top.

issue exists even in the Live Installer. boot into MX 21 Live. Right click the Application Menu, goto Panel/Panel Preferences. Set "Mode" to "horizontal". Maximize any window, now your stuck.

Interesting, I can confirm it does that when you set it this way.sceptre357 wrote: Mon Nov 01, 2021 5:37 pm issue exists even in the Live Installer. boot into MX 21 Live. Right click the Application Menu, goto Panel/Panel Preferences. Set "Mode" to "horizontal". Maximize any window, now your stuck.
Double checking it looks like panel actually thinks its at the bottom of the screen horizontally instead of the top horizontally.
The solution is to use MX Tweak instead and the panel behaves as expected at the top of the screen.

@sceptre357 not a problem, I'm honestly not sure why it acts like that if you move it manually.
One extra benefit of using MX Tweak to do this is it puts everything in an expected order as well, if you move the default panel manually its all backwards at first, but if you use MX Tweak it rearranges the items from left to right.

mx-tweak does use certain xfconf values for settings, and not all of those are exposed in the Xfce's own settings utilities.

Moving a window where you cannot grab the top bar, you can move the window by pressing a key and then just click and hold the left mouse and move it.
You can set this up to your preference (which key) in window manager tweaks accessibility tab.
