NVIDIA Video Cards

#1 Post by rbeltz48 »

Has anyone had any trouble with the NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 730M video card with any version of MX Linux (18.3, 19.3)? I am considering a purchase of a Lenovo Thinkpad 440p which has this card installed. I have never owned a PC with a NVIDIA card. Thanks.

According to a forum search, it should be supported best by the proprietary Nvidia drivers, which are easy to install with the MX tool.

I have a Nvidia GEForce GT 730 with 4GB ram card running with MX Linux 19.4 with no issues. I used the MX Tool for upgrading the Nvidia driver.
Mixed of desktops and laptops, I have a Gravis Ultrasound Classic card (unfortunately its ISA-slot based) ... - I must be a dino.
Running on my DesktopPC - MX-23.4 AHS with latest Kernel: 6.12.17-1-liquorix-amd64
