I have an awesome setup running MX on an old iMac that's been brought back to modern usability.
When I booted from a live-usb it displays on both the iMac screen and to a display port->DVI->HDMI->Phillips 42" TV, however, when I installed and booted from the hard drive, it no longer is able to see the 2nd Phillips TV monitor. How can I make it work again?
I'm attaching the sysreport from the installed, non-working-2-monitor setup.
I'd also like to know how to monitor the line-in on this machine, so I can plug my chromecast into the line-in and share the computer speakers with it, but that's probably an upcoming thread.
Thanks,
Dual monitor

Re: Dual monitor
Welcome to the forum and thanks for the system report file, but.. what we always request is "Quick System Info" from Menu.
Just start it and directly right-click paste into the post (without copying manually and editing) :)
Meanwhile, this looks like AV Linux:
Kernel Linux 5.9.1-rt20avl1 (x86_64)
Version #1 SMP PREEMPT_RT Sat Oct 31 12:21:58 EDT 2020

How do I modify that to fix it? Where is that setting?

Re: Dual monitor
Thx for engaging btw
Re: Dual monitor
"MX Boot Options" from Menu.
You'll see them all in "Kernel Parameters" box, just delete that and apply, reboot..
(If you had added that purposely for it was booting into a black screen, then we need to try other solutions instead of nomodeset , to make it load its own driver)

Re: Dual monitor
FWIW, as I couldn't get any access to the tools of the left-hand screen of my dual-screen setup, I pulled the HDMI plug from the non-functioning monitor while I booted, then plugged it in again, and I was then able to get to the tools (Right-click->Setting->Display or something similar IIRC ... I'm on a different Linux at present, or I'd check that for correctness).
After setting the two screens as I want, it boots up OK from then on, though in my case, at least, I have only a R/H screen half for log-in (I'll likely sort that sometime.)
