Spacer
Spacer
Recently I was recommended to install and use a program called spacer. I have a laptop which runs MX 19.4, always kept up to date. Via synaptic I found and installed spacer. No problem, and I find it very useful. So I went to my desktop computer, which also runs MX 19.4, kept up to date. Again I searched for spacer via synaptic. No sign of it. That seems very strange to me. Not a problem since I use the laptop most of the time. Still, it seems odd. Just a comment.
Re: Spacer
Are they using the same MX repo mirrors? Run MX Repo Manager on both computers and look at the default page.

Re: Spacer
Not quite sure what you mean there. It just gives me a list of mirrors around the world. When I install I just accept what ever mirror comes up. I do not know how to find out which one was used for each install.

Are you sure they didn’t mean “stacer”?barnaby wrote: Thu Jun 17, 2021 6:59 am Recently I was recommended to install and use a program called spacer. Edit: I see you said you found it via Synaptic on one machine. Odd because I can’t find “spacer” on Repology, in our Repo or the Debian Repo.

I will check my desktop computer in case I made the same silly mistake there.

Re: Spacer
You’ll want to switch repos then, because it exists for sure.

Re: Spacer
I am sorry for my silly mistake. I have now checked for stacer (as opposed to spacer) on my desktop computer, and it was there of course. I will no go away to hide my face in shame. Thanks for the help.

Re: Spacer
@barnaby no reason to do that, smile, it happens.
Just this morning as I was testing something I was like “why isn’t the GPU passthrough working in this VM?!”… well it was because I wasn’t even IN a VM!

Re: Spacer
Since spacer is a real word versus a nonsense one that still is quite similar, the confusion is very understandable, IMO.
