Hi all.

I've finally uploaded and shared my new (mx-21) mx-awesome iso for you. You can download it here (within 7 days):

https://www.sendgb.com/upload/?utm_sour ... Hdlu04GMPg

*Password = awesome
**To install = open a terminal and run 'sudo minstall'

I've tried it out but let me know if you have any problems. Any issues you may have will likely be down to the path changing from my home/myusername to home/awesome.

You can see all the hotkeys by pressing Super + Alt + K but the right click menu will get you around easily enough initially.

Dean

Here are some screenshots of the current iteration. Let me know if there's any interest in my polishing it off even further and then sharing:
@deanr72 I'm going to point this out to one of the MX devs who has been working on Awesome on MX as well. He is a programmer and has done some custom LUA plugins for his own use. He has mentioned that he might like a MX Awesome spin as well. If you are looking for some help on this project, I think he might be interested.

Be sure to read the "Terms of Use" at the bottom of the MX homepage when you start to think of distribution

Oh, I'm no kind of dev/programmer at all - just a (bad, very amateurish!) hobbyist.

If somebody who actually knows what they are doing is working on an MX awesome spin that's er, awesome, and I'll be more than happy to use a more refined/legit version. Having said that, if said person wants to look at what I've done and/or ask me anything via a pm then I'm happy to share what I've done thus far.

Will do.

If someone at MX is actually working on an awesome spin then I'll definitely be keeping my franken to myself :bagoverhead:

@deanr72 I don't believe that anyone else is working on an mx-respin using Awesome. I just know a certain MX dev who likes using and configuring Awesome on MX. As @Jerry3904 pointed out there are some clear "Terms of Use" if you want to distribute a non hosted respin of MX that you could follow if you want to distribute it to a wider audience. I'm not familiar with the process, @Jerry3904 would know more, how a respin might become a recognized Official Release like we have in MX Fluxbox and MX KDE. For now perhaps you can continue putting on some spit and polish, and down the road perhaps more in the MX community would like to help out and bring it into the family of MX Official Release flavors. I think this is a great project to pursue, and see what happens as you develop it further.

Personally, the excellent work that was done on MX Fluxbox brought me into the MX community. I'm sure that others might be attracted to MX through an mx-respin using AwesomeWM.

Sure, I'll keep plugging away at it and keep it as a private ongoing project, at least for the time being.

Thanks all for input!

Any new development?

Edit: It seems to run pretty well with XFCE when launching startxfce4. What else should I need?
