Thunar not letting picture to be set as wallpaper [Solved]

#1 Post by danielson »

MX Fluxbox has a slew of nice wallpapers, but i like other images too.

Thunar is said to let you choose a picture and set it as wallpaper, but it isn't doing it for me.

won't work to set fluxbox wallpaper. the thunar function is specific to Xfce.

you can set a wallpaper with mx-idesktool IIRC.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

You can add a custom action in Thunar as follows:

Thunar --> Edit --> Configure custom actions... and create a new action (hit the +sign ?)
then insert following values:
in 'Basic'
- Name: Set as wallpaper in Fluxbox
- Description: set background image
- command: feh --bg-scale %f
- Icon: Wallpaper
in 'Appearance Conditions':
- tick the 'Image Files' box

that should give you the possibility to set the image as wallpaper in fluxbox

Sorry, don't think fluxbox allows setting workspaces with different backgrounds... :bawling:
