Font rendering issue
Re: Font rendering issue
Installed Kernel 5.8 as suggested by tony37 and it seems to have fixed the font issue. Still have a few other things to solve (high battery drainage is one).
Re: Font rendering issue
Aha. But do know that this specific kernel is still bleeding edge, so no Nvidia and VirtualBox drivers at the moment (see here). I felt a bit awkward recommending this to you (which is why I mentioned 5.7 too) but now at least we know one way to solve the font issue.daakbahok wrote: Wed Sep 09, 2020 12:31 pm Installed Kernel 5.8 as suggested by tony37 and it seems to have fixed the font issue.
Re: Font rendering issue
Yes I could choose to use 5.7 but the list of improvement in 5.8 for AMD made me try it. Not that the battery draining has been caused by it. It was doing some after initial installation (KDE version that has AHS, so Kernel 5.6)tony37 wrote: Wed Sep 09, 2020 1:09 pmAha. Re: Font rendering issue
Virtual Box 6.1.14 in the test repo will handle 5.8 kernels now, and I just uploaded nvidia-driver 450.66 for either the test or AHS repo, or both, which also builds on 5.8. I'm going to do some other Nvidia drivers next for older hardware not compatible with 450.66.
