Sorry if this was probably asked before (could'nt find anything with search).
I tried the drag and drop way but antiX doesn't seem to have the feature.
I use IceWM.

What 'desktop' are you using? Rox or Spacefm?

antiX with runit - lean and mean.

Re: How to add application shortcuts to desktop?
Pretty simple really. Right click on a the desktop (or one of your perhaps several workspace desktops). Select create launcher and follow the script therein to point to the relevant program. You can then leave the shortcut on the desktop or (as i tend to do) place it in the panel keeping things on the desktop itself clean and clear.
Re: How to add application shortcuts to desktop?
-If you are using a Rox managed desktop (Rox-icewm, rox-jwm, rox-fluxbox):
1. Open Rox
2. Navigate to "/usr/share/applications/"
3. drag and drop the desktop files you want to have on your desktop
4. You may right click the icons you just created on the desktop and change/ remove their names (it's just a copy of the original desktop files)
P.
Edit: I remembered because this question is asked so often (along with how to add icons to the toolbar), that I created a script that automates this process. It's over at https://pastebin.com/zRD7EGcJ

Re: How to add application shortcuts to desktop?
You can also use the roxPanel to do this.
Go to >menu > Desktop > RoxPanel on/off
The RoxPanel will appear at the top,
just click on the left folder and the /usr/share/applications folder will get opened and you can drag and drop any desktop-application that you need.

Re: How to add application shortcuts to desktop?
It works thank you.
Re: How to add application shortcuts to desktop?
Space-icewm
I tried to change the ~/.config/spacefm/desktop0 but it overwrites itself, after restarting the session. if you remove the recording rights, then it is executed. I'm owner of config file.
By default, the desktop displays the contents of the ~ directory, not ~ / Desktop, how can this be changed?
