[SOLVED] thunderbird links quit working

Recently, the live URLs in thunderbird quit working. Neither left clicking on the link or right clicking and selecting "open in browser" worked. It turns out my system forgot which browser was the default. Since the browser I use the most is firefox, I thought I'd check it's settings by opening Edit->Preferences and there was a big button that read "Make firefox the default browser". Clicking this button made thunderbird links start working immediately.

I just posted this so it would be searchable for any newcomer.
