[solved] KeePassX is lagging, any recommendations for substitute?

Hey there,
KeePass is getting halted, many times, i need to use 'sudo kill process' to make it run once again, but after it gives me the same,
any recommendations of actions? any recommendations of substitute?

You might consider to install KeePassXC instead of KeePassX.

Passwords and Keys is installed by default, you might take a look at that.

I second KeepassXC.

I think the KeepassX info is compatible with KeepassXC so possibly an easy switch.

I do wish KeePassX 0.4.4 was avilable in the repos. It is equally secure to the later versions, yet offers some features the newer versions lack. I installed it manually and have never had a lick of trouble with it. Something to consider...

i tried it, but after experience of KeepassX - which was quite good beside lagginggg

i installed KeepassXC, lets see : will it lag or not? Lets see,

why would you use X 0.4.4 instead of XC?

@hkjz

1) KeePassX_0.4.4 is cross platform and supports the older '.kdb' database format, used by other password managers such as Peassword Safe. Other versions of KeePass will convert the database to the newer format which will no longer be compatible. If you don't need the compatibility then this would obviously not be a problem.

2) There is no easy way to drag-and-drop copy notes/comments that are saved with the other KeePass versions.

3) There are several limitations with what and how columns can be displayed with the other versions.

There were others which I can't remember off the top of my head since it was so long ago that I ran through all the tests.
