Anyone have a clue as to when AVIDemux will be available for this version?

It's too clunky in Virtualbox/XP
Did you read the whole thread?

I think the last consensus was to use the Appimage?
Maybe they have a Flatpak too.
If there are issues we us packaging it as discussed previously that may be the option.

Yes, but I was reluctant to use the appimage format. However, your response initiated further research into it's use and so I decided to take the plunge. Having downloaded it and made it executable (using https://itsfoss.com/use-appimage-linux/) it works fine. So thanks for the nudge!

We still can't host it in the MX repos due to patent issues--no change there until those expire.

I'll see if I can build a newer release in my OBS repo, though.

I had a look at the flatpak, Is there anyway to adjust the font size? If there isn't then I can't use it. I'd rather not use a flatpak anyway, I'll have a look at your multimedia repo link Stevo.

It currently won't let me in:

An AppImage is easier to manage than a Flatpak, IMO. Just try that one.

That link I posted is to a thread on the Debian forums about the multimedia repo, and those forums are down right now. I haven't had time to update Avidemux from there.

The last time I checked, it was still safe to temporarily add the deb-multimedia repo and install avidemux from there, too. Do not upgrade anything else while that repo is enabled!

Thanks Stevo.

I disabled that repo as soon as it had done its job (& left me a note with it for future reference, as well as copying the OP of this thread for my reference also).

I don't know much about flatpaks & the like. What looks like a problem to me (the uninitiated) is that you have to accept the fonts size that comes with it, which is just not on for me eyes.
