also .. the session drop down has moved to the center top of the log in screen in the new 19.1 version

at least it has on a fresh install i just did

You're right, it was moved to the center of the top of the login screen in 19.1. It used to be near the upper right corner before that.

Please tell us exactly what you did to install "cinnamon", since MX Package Installer does not have a special action to add it.

BTW, the "cinnamon" package alone will not do it. You need "cinnamon-core" installed with --recommends for a minimal Cinnamon desktop, and "cinnamon-desktop-environment" for a full-blown desktop with everything but the kitchen sink, which Debian and Mint give you with an install.

Everything works. I have disabled automatic login and on restart appears the option of choosing the desktop including Cinnamon.

You really didn't have to disable automatic login. If you just Log out you'll end up on the Display Manager screen, which is Lightdm. Then Log back in after you choose your DE or WM. And still have the automatic login enable.

yes Cinnamon thems to work very well... but I don´t find the language stettings... can the language of the cinamon settings be set?
