MX Linux 19 Installation Failed on Lenovo Thinkpad T420 <SOLVED>
MX Linux 19 Installation Failed on Lenovo Thinkpad T420 <SOLVED>
Could not install. Got to a certain point in the install and the screen started blinking continuously I believe at the GRUB install screen. Went out and came back in to try install again and the same blinking problem occurred. I never had an install problem with either MX Ver. 17 or 18. This is a new bug. I am also running Debian 10, MX Linux 18.3 and Mint 19 on the same Lenovo T420. All installed and run perfectly. Ver. 19 is NOT ready for prime time until the installer is debugged.

Re: MX Linux 19 Installation Failed on Lenovo Thinkpad T420
Was this in legacy or UEFI mode? I've install MX19 to 2 Lenovo machines, one a T420, the other an E72 small-form-factor desktop. Both UEFI, only problem I encountered on either of them was having to run grub-update after the install to pickup other OS installs on the machines. Haven't tried an install in legacy mode though...

I deleted the partition in question, created a new partition, formatted it and was then able to install a distro.

Sorry, it's not clear to me. Is this a bug in v19 installer or user error? Is 19 ready for prime time?

Maybe the partition present had some mistakes... it generally helps to make partitions only by the OS you wanna install and not on the partition that was coming from another OS.
But I'm glad you solved it.
