NOte, I am not using MX_TOOLS, as they are not on MINT so I have to manually type in the details. And I am using a laptop, not the desktop that has problems that no one has answered, because the issues are annoying to use and delay me. If anyone has an answer to any of the issues I have, it is much appreciated, thanks.

I was not running anything with the nvidia card, just the mx tools and forum with dvi-i to hdmi to tv. It has a 1year warranty but it is an old card anyway. Not many cards are compatible. I ordered and cancelled an order yesterday for an rx 550, but it is not compatible apparently with any rx series because of f2 bios issues.

do i have to post this long 2 page list every post?
I think it may be because it was running at 1920*1080 for the tv, so I set it lower for gpu temp and will check, but the screen windows are now basically not-useable as the window boandaries are way off screen etc.

You don't have to post it with every post, no :)

Just be aware that such a high temperature on barely a load isn't a good sign, so I would definitely be on the lookout for a replacement.

Yes, you seem to be correct on the temperature issue. I have messaged the people who sold it to see if they will send a replacement or a deal on another etc but have not heard back yet. The lower resolution settings seemed to do nothing. The temperature went up to a high of 93 degrees.

Though none of this solves the issue of screen workspace area and boundary limitations even if they send me another.

Does anyone have any solution ideas for boundary issues?
How do I also change the font colours of windows, or do I need to install another MX tool for that. Or do I need to install another theme from somewhere else (a non-mx_linux conflicting source?type? etc)?
The only thing I have at the moment is redshift to adjust the daily screen temperature for my eyes.
Is there no option for these things? Also, I have noticed there is no actual power management to adjust brightness or colour etc, is this another tool or download?

Any help appreciated, Thanks.

If the seller of the computer does not supply another gpu as it is under parts warranty etc, I may try to take it apart and re-paste it. Will that do much or next to nothing? Alot of questions, but they are all image/workspace related.
Thanks for the gpu help.

To be honest.. if you like to tinker around, sure, go ahead and see if it can be salvaged that way. No guarantees though if that sorts it, who knows what is wrong with the thing, you might break it completely.

Hopefully they will replace it for you, but I would be on the lookout for a new GPU of similar or better specs than what you have now.

ok, just the t5500 is not very compatible with most gpu's, appently the whole rx series, so gtx 1050ti is probably what is most suitable for price. Any hints on the font/theme stuff?

No hints on fonts/themes, nor your other questions.. I am kind of a default Sans font, no themes girl. Maybe someone else knows.

These issues do not matter now as the replacement GPU turned up, and after around 30 minutes of use a capacitor or the psu blew, so it is being returned for a refund. Apparently the GF100 quadro has a temp problem from blocked vents etc, but it doesn't matter now.
Thanks all.
