This is another good map: https://sonomacounty.maps.arcgis.com/ap ... 8_TNXPxyzM
My place got a mandatory evac notice late Saturday so the 6 of us migrated to a friend of my brothers in Pengrove which amazingly has power. 1 block West and 1 block East no juice. The fire chief must live close by :p
I think the power issue has a lot of cell towers down too because my cell only has one bar and the mobile broadband card in my laptop is dog slow & dropping out regularly.

At least the wind is down today so maybe those tanker bombers can do their thing and put the sucker out.

PG&E and others put up a lot of HD webcams this year on most of the higher mountain peaks in Northern California, much like the HPWren system we've had in the San Diego area for years. I found the site for the one in your area, but currently it's tough to see anything on relevant cameras because of the smoke.

Edit: right-click the webcam image to get some time-lapse video options...

I sure hope everyone remains safe. Fire is a very nasty adversary. Those of us who live where it strikes worry. As luck would have it, our fall drought (on the Front Range of Colorado) is now buried under a foot of snow. It is the one sure way of knocking down our fire danger. Santa Rosa and environs are not so fortunate. Stay well @mmikeinsantarosa and you too @stevo.

We're good, thanks. Neither my brother or mom or I lost homes. We've been back in our home since Monday afternoon on generator and PG&E restored our AC Thursday afternoon. Mom stayed with us until Friday morning when she went home and her power was back Friday evening. My brother also went home Thursday and he got his power back Friday night and gas back this morning. The fire is 72% contained at the moment.

We did wake up this morning with no power and my wife checked the PG&E website and it said to be prepared for an extended outage so I put everything back on generator. A couple hours later our AC was back on.
