Just wondering how this works..
I read in another topic about master pdf editor that there was an update. Ok.. checked in synaptic, nothing there.. checked in MXPI, shows installed but that is it, not in testing either.
Then read that the user reinstalled and got the newer version that way, so.. I opened MXPI again, reinstalled and indeed, newer version is now active.
Is there a way for these things to show up in MXPI or synaptic that they have newer versions (aside from the program itself nagging at you, of course)?

no. master-pdf does not provide a repository and we can't host it because of licenses.Eadwine Rose wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2019 11:46 am Just wondering how this works..

Ahh ok! So basically those bits of software can be updated by simply reinstalling using the MXPI :)

Re: [explained] Updates not showing? How does this work?
I don't know if Master PDF has a setting to turn off the nags, but I had to manually ask it if there were any updates this last time, when I remember it used to let me know at startup.

It does in Tools>Settings. Options are check never, weekly or monthly.Stevo wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2019 5:32 pm I don't know if Master PDF has a setting to turn off the nags, but I had to manually ask it if there were any updates this last time, when I remember it used to let me know at startup.
