rich (or anyone else with this problem).

I would like you to try something if you are game.

1. make a backup copy of /etc/xdg/autostart/pulseaudio-kde.desktop into some other folder (like /home/user) and then delete /etc/xdg/autostart/pulseaudio-kde.desktop

2. edit as root /etc/xdg/autostart/pulseaudio.desktop and comment out the NotShowIn=KDE . save the file.

reboot and see if you can crash pulseaudio.

NOTE: make sure you do things so has to be able to revert changes if necessary.

Not sure if my doing that would be much help as the crashes are so infrequent and I cannot induce them.

fair enough.

in pulseaudio 5.99, they removed start-pulseaudio-kde. So I'm thinking its not necessary in plasma 5.

if this is true, then leaving pulse-start enabled in KDE would work same as XFCE.

Ok, working on an idea.

Steve, could you post your /etc/pulse/default.pa for pulseaudio 7.

Ok, and can you check to see if there is a /etc/xdg/autostart/pulseaudio-kde.desktop file (that filename might not be exact.)

The version of KDE we are using does not use Plasma 5. Or am I mis-understanding you.
