DEPRECATION - reppositories

#1 Post by ~FLOW~ »

Greetings my excellent friends,
I don't knwo exactly where to post this so bear with me please.
I tried a clean bare-metal new install of MX23. Everything goes smoothly.
I installed Brave with the instructions from their site
I also installed Dropbox directly from their site - Ubuntu 22.10 or higher (.deb)
Everything work ok, but when I sudo apt update I get this Warnings :

Code: Select all

All packages are up to date.
N: Skipping acquire of configured file 'main/binary-i386/Packages' as repository 'https://brave-browser-apt-release.s3.brave.com stable InRelease' doesn't support architecture 'i386'
W: http://linux.dropbox.com/debian/dists/bookworm/Release.gpg: Key is stored in legacy trusted.gpg keyring (/etc/apt/trusted.gpg), see the DEPRECATION section in apt-key(8) for details.
Should I do something about them ?

Here is my system info :

That was a fast answer :)
well, I don't want to seem ungrateful toward MX developers and their work, or too paranoid, but when it comes to sensitive data, like Dropbox I always installed apps directly from their source in all the distros I tried in many years, out of fear of injected malware.

the dropbox message is safe but you'll get it forever.

the brave one is also safe, but you'll get it forever. in your repo list add "[arch=amd64]" between the "deb" and the "http....." info.

lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 - MX-23
FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.
