[SOLVED]MX Fluxbox Background Noice when 3.5 mm jack head phones are connected

#1 Post by Sree »

Hi Great Souls!!
Thank you so much for the excellent support you gave me so far.
It took me continuous 12 hours to setup the missing grub issue, (because of residue of the MXxfce in grub and wrong files in the efi folder)
But I am soo happy that, those 12 hours didnt go wasted.

Problem:
Main problem : Statement
: 3.5 mm jack creates bcakground noise even if the volume is muted. in the window (I am dual booting) there is no issue.
Sub problem : Also, Do I really required Alsa mixer?I am not finding a way to remove the software though. , I have now, Pulise Audio Alsamixer, Kmixer.

attempts made : I tried different settings in pulse audio but nothing worked. (there is no settings available in Alsa mixer)

Hope some one will be able to help me.

Main problem : 3.5 mm jack creates bcakground noise even if the volume is muted. in the window (I am dual booting) there is no issue.

Looks like you have two audio servers installed? Did you install the PulseAudio software?

Yep.

Also:

PipeWire v: 0.3.83 status: off with: 1: pipewire-pulse status: off 2: wireplumber status: off

Most important: Is it the same on live session? (With the official iso like the one you installed, not a personal snapshot)

Press F6 , select "...0 ... Intel" (rather than the "default") then press F5

Play with the "headphones" etc...

Btw. You can mute/unmute any item with M from keyboard.

MX-23 uses PipeWire as the default audio server and MX-21 uses PulseAudio as the default audio server.

Did you install the PulseAudio software? Where you having problems with PipeWire?

This is what shows as my audio server in MX-23 fluxbox. (No PulseAudio server listed)

Code: Select all

@siamhie

Sorry missed to answer this
Yes
1) When I installed fluxbox, it was not detecting volume control keys (also no systray icon)
2) Found kmixer as a solution
3) However kmixer work with Pulse audio
4) So installed pulse audio
5) Removed ALSA mixer

No I dont have an ISO image stored in the system.

in any case the sound problem is 100% solved

Thanks for the link that helped to remove orphan items. however server still showing up.
Apart from having a pinch in mind that I still dont have much control over this software, system wise everything is working perfectly. :)

Thanks again
