I did but couldnt find anything resembling my desktop SUDDENLY being too bg to fit the screen. Maybe I didnt explain problem clearly. I have been using this installation a long time now. And I have also been using the same monitorfor a long time, maybe 1 year. I am familiar with the resolutionsettings in Kde and allways used 1920x1080 with this monitor without a problem or better said without the desktop not fitting the screen. And with not fitting the screen I mean verticallyt hus I get a rollbar to right of the screen with which I can roll up or down the screen.This happened suddenly from one second to the next when I was using the machine. I suppose I could rescale it to fit better but why did it work flawlessly before yesterday evening? I didnt change any resolutionsettings.

Can you test your monitor against another machine to eliminate it as the problem source?
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Bumped keys / key combos do happen. Cats. Sometimes more rarely, faulty connections from input devices or their failing switches.
If it didn't happen over a restart, it's probably something like that.
Thanks for being there!

I just went to my neighbor yesterday.. HELP I cannot see anything on my screen anymore!

Took me two seconds to sort that one out.

I asked if the cat had been on the computer (laptop). As a matter of fact she was! Turns out the cat managed to get itself positioned to press the Fn and dim brightness keys at the same time. :laugh:

If no cats
then gremlins.

Since your QSI shows an HDMI connection but the specs found here:
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/21551 ... tml?page=8
only show VGA and / or DVI-D connectors, I'm assuming that you are using some type of adaptor. If this happens again, you should swap out the adaptor first.
