Is it a new issue? Was it always like that?

What happens if you just uncheck the "Lock Screen Before Going to Sleep" ? Is it ok then ?

Is it the same if you hibernate it other ways (rather than closing the lid) ?

Is it the same if you select "suspend" for "when closing the lid" rather than hibernate ?

Is light-locker or any others installed, and do they work if you just lock the screen ?

4. yes, it asks the question again

5. no light-locker. but i have installed "xscreensaver" recently

... Then it seems to be due to xscreensaver. Maybe you consider just a locker instead of that:

light-locker/slock (suckless-tools)/xtrlock/i3lock ...

Meanwhile it's normal for #3 as pm-utils already doesn't lock the screen, just suspend/hibernate, hence no such question. If you prefer to not lock the screen: just create a hotkey(s) from keyboard for sudo pm-hibernate and press your key(s) that's it ...

If you like, just install light-locker and try .
